Never mind the similarity between a dominatrix outfit and leather, but some guys and friends tell me I seem like the “dominant” type because I often wear tight black leather pants(sometimes skirts). While this is true about me, does it apply to women generally, do other people think women who frequently wear leather pants are dominant, bossy types? Also, does smoking a cigarette while wearing this add to the “dominant” aspect? Just curious.
Although I am interested in what others may think of me based on how I dress, I do not “care” what they think to the point that I would change my ways if they thought I looked like a slut or a dominant type.

I don’t know. I’m kind of torn on this one. I wear pleather pants as well (close enough), but usually with a more feminine top, makeup or accessories. Plus, my personality is pretty feminine, along with my overall appearance. I don’t know if dominance has anything to do with it, but I do think guys are intimidated by anything that is out of the fashion norm (trust me, I could write a book on this). Perhaps dominance and bossiness plays into it from this point. Smoking a cigarette would probably help that viewpoint.
Keep rocking it until you find a man that can handle that sass! Sometimes I feel that guys aren’t courageous enough to approach me, but I’ll keep hanging in there for the one that can instead of toning my style down.

Based on my experience, I think leather-clad women are more dominant.
Sometimes they aren’t bossy, but rather “edgy”, and need to express a very strong, unique kind of femininity, regardless of being dominant or not. Clothing can say a lot about a woman’s personality, but sometimes the more you find out about a woman, the less you know. It’s like they speak a language all their own, and you have to learn it to truly understand them.
They wouldn’t be any fun if it were otherwise!

I’d say it’s down more to how the person carries themselves than the clothes they wear, although smoking whilst wearing leather definitely adds to the domme look. One person might look dominant in leather pants, another may look classy and yet another may look trashy. It depends on much more than the pants. If you wear your leather pants with confidence, then you’re going to look confident and maybe even dominant. If you’re not too sure about yourself in them, spending more time thinking about what others think, then you aren’t going to come across the same way.

Certainly not necessarily.
It depends mostly on what they/we wear with the leather pants. If a woman wears leather pants with light cashmere sweater and dressy shoes, there’s nothing dominant looking about that.
However, a woman could wear some otherwise nondescript pants and accessorize them with “dominant” shoes, jacket, hat, etc.

Like the others have mentioned it’s all in the way you carry yourself while wearing your leather pants. It also depends on the rest of the outfit that you wear with your leathers. If you dress them up with a leather top or leather jacket you may end up having that dom appeal. You should wear some sort of casual blouse or sweater to avoid that look.
When I see a woman dressed in tight leather pants and a nice blouse my impression is, she is self confident, unique and probably a very fun outgoing person. I hope people see me the same way when I wear my leather pants…LOL

No, because women are not dominant, it doesn’t matter what she wear’s, you can’t fight biology. End of story.
