I live in Vancouver, and never bothered with snow boots and the like. I love dressing up and am not a ski jacket type of girl.
I hear Toronto is extremely cold and always snowing. What kinds of clothes are necessary in a woman’s closet? On TV you see women in stilettos and gorgeous wool coats walking around NYC in around Christmas. Is the weather similar? Is that even realistic?
Help! I’m totally lost!

snow removal is not the greatest either so ull be walking around in feet of snow.

summers are nice tho mostly so u can strut your BC wardrobe then.

Before it used to start snowing in November but for the last few years it really hasn’t. Expect it to start snowing from late December to early January. And yes, you will need snow boots for those really snowy days.

What you see on TV is very unrealistic. After a winter in Toronto, comfort will become your # 1 priority, not fashion. However, you may find a way to achieve both. the winters are very cold. The snow is deep and slushy, dirty in areas of high volume. Also high volume places are generally very crowded as people are in a rush to get out of the cold. Be smart, and dress appropriate for the weather

you will definitely need boots when there is snow because there will be a lot of it. usually the sidewalks aren’t cleared till a couple days after a snowfall.

you can go with the ‘gorgeous wool coats’ though if you want. that’s the type of coat i wear and i’m fine. i’m not into wearing ski jackets everywhere either.

Okaay so this is basic toronto weather

november – march – COLDDDDD SNOW HAIL ICE you need a heavy coat, good boats( forget those stillettos) mitts hat etc.
    April – May – cool-warm, light jacket.
June – August- HOOOTTTTT like sometimes it hits 40 degrees.
September and october- basically the same as april and may.

Basically for winter you will need a heavy winter coat and boots
Dont be afraid, you will get used to it.
