Scary!!
That woman who actually wanted to “CHIP” her daughter.
It was good to see that that dad finally let his son walk to school on his won though.
It made me realise how lucky I am to have a Mum who will let me go to the shop without putting a GPS device in my coat.

I know, I felt so sorry for the children.
Like the father and daughter going through the Humpty Dumpty (dunno about the spellling).
father: do you want to sit on a wall?
daughter: no
father: and why is that?
daughter: because I could get injured
(or something along those lines)
Brainwashed or what?
Those are the kids that get their first taste of freedom at uni (pushed into higher education by their parents) and then go crazy there. Nice. I walked to school on my own (10 min walk) when I was 5. I fell off walls and survived. I was allowed to use the underground on my own when I was 10.
Gonna watch it again when I have Kids.

i am a mum and watched this programme….i think the parents were completely paranoid, but when you read some of the parents on here a lot of them are the same.
it is a worry to let your kids out alone but we have to do it…as your last answer said you cant unleash an 18 year old on the world when they havent developed any coping skills.
And no matter how many times it is pointed out to parents they seem to refuse to believe the facts…that is children are in no more danger today than they were 20 years ago. in fact the only thing thats on the rise is child obesity (those kids couped up on games consoles) and lack of self discipline and social skills.
I refuse to let hysteria and other over anxious parents dictate how much freedom i allow my children….but it is difficult to allow my child 10yrs old to walk to school…5 minutes away in a sleepy little village….when nearly all the other mothers are driving theirs.
