I really love the shape of your ‘fro and the color. Is it a dye? I want that color!… but more importantly, thanks for sharing your sons’ perspective with us. I think the older — “they’ll be off looking for the next weave with legs” — was very insightful!

I love your Afro and your personality too. I enjoy listening to your sons’ opinions on Black women with natural hair. I am a black woman with a short Afro which I love, and I do love short Afro on women and men. I remember when Diana Ross was in The Wiz she supported a Short Afro but I do not know if that was her own hair but it looked Great on her.

You know, getting less attention can be a blessing: all of those fellas giving you attention weren’t particularly interested in you anyway. You’re more likely to get attention from the type of man who is interested in you as a person rather than you, the black-euro-beauty icon. Ladies rock your beauty with confidence and the individuality being natural brings….don’t get me wrong I like Beyonce, but does everybody have to look like her?

I love this video and you are right if you go natural you need your own confidence and find a style that works for you. Like finding your hair type and then look up styles that work wonders with you. I have natural hair and it is currrly and THICK so I do the twist out and it is beautiful. I love natural hair it is beautiful!!! peace

It took a while for my husband to come around but he has. Just be diligent and love your hair. I was to the point of slapping in a perm to please him then I turned around and said, I’m gonna MAKE you love these naps, lol! Just wear cute styles that enhance your natural beauty and he will come around. Talking about how much YOU love it (even when it’s driving you nuts) around him and it will work on his concious too. Don’t talk negative about your hair, only positive things, know what I mean?

That’s true about confidence,if you lack confidence it shows. My aunt wanted to try locs but she was reluctant because she wasn’t sure about how others would accept it.And I told her if you’re reluctant others will surely be reluctant too.If you don’t beleive it’s beautiful, others won’t either.
